A retired local farmer who still gets up early to tend his SimAngus cattle, puts miles on that beloved tractor, and somehow always finds time to help a neighbor — whether that’s pointing lost customers to the restroom, mowing a pasture just to be kind, or inviting folks up to his farm to pick fresh from the garden.

He lives up on Mayland Road with one of the best views in the Valley, cold beer in the fridge, and more stories than daylight. A conservative Democrat, a loyal friend, a man who’s always smiling — and a true Shenandoah Valley treasure.
